Terrance Laird
2016 was a huge season for Coatesville's Terrance Laird. The rising senior put together a great junior campaign. After a good start to his indoor season, Laird suffered an injury that kept him out of the postseason. But he returned for a big outdoor season. He was second by the closest of margins to Joshua McLemore in the 200 meters at the PIAA State Championship, clocking a 21.41.
Laird will look for redemption of sorts this weekend. He will matchup with McLemore in a very competitive sprints field assembled for this meet. The field also includes Friends' Central's Jeff Brown, Bishop Shanahan's Keegan Hughes, Christopher Dock's Austin Kratz, and Upper Darby's Gianni Lawrence, among others. Laird, who has the fastest PR of the bunch (a PA#1 21.30 from the District 1 Championships) will definitely be one to watch.
Laird is also the top seed in the 100 meters.
