TEAM RESULTS

We knew Jen Korty was good. That much was made apparent after sizable wins at Cliff Robbins and Lackawanna. But it probably wasn't until Saturday that we realized just how good.

Korty took control of the White (A) Race early and the rest was history. The race didn't feature Marianne Abdalah, the three-time Class-A state champ, who instead did a workout beforehand on the course and will make her season debut at Paul Short next weekend. So instead, it was all Korty.

She clocked a 19:08 for the win and will look forward to returning to Hershey in November, a meet she didn't qualify for last season. Now she's a major contender for the state title. Lilly Myers of Fairview ran well for second, while York's Katelyn MacDougall was third and Country Day of the Sacred Heart's Emma Seifried was fourth (Seifried was second to Abdalah at states last year).

In the team race, Abdalah's absense didn't hinder a very strong Vincentian Academy team, which edged out Elk Lake 62-69 for the White Race win. Katherine Fedko (sixth) was the top finisher for VA.
