Quaker Valley primed for big day: Midwestern Athletic Conference Championship Preview

Girls' Preview

VIRTUAL MEET

Last year, the Quaker Valley girls ran away with the MAC title, scoring just 34 points en route to the crown. This year should be similar as the champs return six of seven from that 2015 team. They have the defending champion in Lucie Kubinski.

The top girl for QV this year, however, has been Anna Pawloski, who came from behind to win at Sharpsville a few weeks ago. Audrey Durbin, freshman Annie Wicker, and Kubinksi make for a very formidable top four.

Ambridge Area's Elyssa Penson will give a strong challenge to Pawloski for the individual title. Penson beat Pawloski at the Red, White & Blue Classic by five seconds, but more recently Pawloski got the better of her at Shaprsville. Showdown #3 will be a good one! New Brighton's Alyssa Campbell was second at this meet last year and should be a factor this year as well.

Neshannoick's Abby Hutchison and Ambridge Area's Mica Hanish will also contend for high finishes on Thursday.
