10. Amy Willig takes second in the 800 at the Armory
She has a rich family history in Pennsylvania track and field, and now sophomore Amy Willig is proving she can be next in the line of Willigs to make a splash on the mid-distance scene.
Willig ran a time of 2:16.87 to place second in the fastest section (and overall) at Saturday's Hispanic Games. Only Shalah Means of Benjamin Cardozo ran faster on the day. It's a big PR for Willig, whose previous best in the MileSpilt database was a 2:19.83 from outdoors this past spring. It's also a PA#2 (a few ticks behind Penn Wood's Terri Turner) and a US#9 for the Great Valley sophomore.
