It was a quick turnaround for some Pennsylvania pole vaulters. After the PTFCA Indoor State Championship on Saturday, a few of PA's top vaulters made the trip to New York's Armory on Tuesday night for the Eastern States Championships.
Hatboro-Horsham's Nick Marino claimed yet another win, adding to his state championship from just a few days ago. Marino cleared 15-6 on his second attempt to take the victory in the boys' pole vault. Fordham Prep (NY)'s Colin Duignan was also good over 15-6, but cleared on his third attempt, giving Marino the advantage and the victory.
This win comes on the heels on Marino's Pennsylvania indoor state title from Saturday at Penn State. The Bucknell-bound senior cleared a PR of 16-0 at states. Friends' Central's Robby Saligman also competed in the pole vault, taking sixth overall with a height of 14-6.

Coughlin's Madisyn Hawkins continued her busy and successful season at Eastern States. Hawkins cleared 12-6 on her first attempt to take second overall. New Jersey's Leah Saifi cleared 13-0.5 on her final attempt to take the win. Saifi also suffered an ankle injury on the winning attempt, but the X-ray showed no fracture.
Marino, Saligman, and Hawkins are all slated to appear at next week's New Balance Nationals Indoor back at The Armory, according the recently released performance list.
