Council Rock Kiwanis Invitational - Meet Preview
A number of teams from District 1 will head to Newtown for the boys-only meet at Council Rock North on Saturday. Here's some of the action to watch for:
Downingtown East's Jeremy Jennings looks primed for big things this winter after a very successful winter. Jennings dropped a 10.70 FAT 100 meters at a dual meet this week and that could mean big things in an invite scenario. He's the favorite in both the 100 and 200 meters.
Council Rock North's Mike Welde will look to challenge him in the 100 meters, but also look for Welde in the 400 meters, where he'll matchup with Abington's Aaron Sooknanan.

Hatboro-Horsham's Nick Marino will kick off his senior season of outdoor track and it could be a big one. Marino cleared 16 feet to win the indoor state title and may have an even better outdoor season ahead.
In the 400 meter hurdles (note: not the 300 hurdles), Hatboro-Horsham's Matthew Lenahan will race Holy Ghost's Samuel Huslin in a good early season dual.
In the 800 meters, William Tennent's Matt Kraus and Council Rock South's Evan Kutney will look for fast times to start off their respective outdoor campaigns. In the 1500 meters, we'll get our first look at Quakertown's Hudson Delisle after an incredible run at the indoor state meet in the 800 meters. Roman Catholci's Sean Brown and Council Rock North's Bryan Keller will be among the challengers, though. CR North's Ryan Campbell is the top seed in the 5000 meters, an even his older brother won twice before.
In the throws, Neshaminy's Hunter Barnett will look to keep it rolling after a strong performance for the win at the PA Track Classic last week. He'll be challenged by Cheltenham's Jean S. Codio. Bensalem's Yobani Moreno is the top seed in the shot put. He'll be challenged by the Pennridge duo of Griffin McMann and Riley LaRiviere, who are also the top seeds in the shot put.
