Haverford Invitational - Meet Preview
Some strong teams are headed to Havertown this weekend for the Haverford Invitational. Here's what to watch for there:
GIRLS' PREVIEW
Strath Haven's Grace Forbes is coming off a terrific indoor season that saw her help her team to a silver in the DMR. Watch for Forbes in the 800 meters on Saturday. She'll be challenged in that race by Penncrest's Tara Higgins and Souderton's Emily Bonaventure. Strath Haven's Maddie Forbes is the top seed in the 1600 meters.
The 3200 meters is a pretty stacked race, which includes CB West's Megan Kolbe, Strath Haven's Isabel Cardi, Downingtown East's Lexi VanBlunk, West Chester East's Allyson Clarke, and Owen J. Roberts' Ally Brunton.
In the sprints, watch for Owen J. Roberts' Teneisha Myers in both the 100 and 200 meters. In the 100, she'll be challenged by Souderton's Cara Jackson. Bonner & Prendie's Jewel Ford and Chichester's Nierra Berry could be in the mix, too. Bonner & Prendie's Alaina Johnson is the top seed and worth watching in the 300 hurdles on Saturday.
Souderton's Moira O'Malley is the top seed in the high jump. In the triple jump, reigning AAA state champion from last spring, Evelyn Berecz, will look to get her invite schedule off to a good start on Saturday in the triple.
The top seed in the discus is Villa Maria (1)'s Morgan Monteith, while Haverford's Cecilia Katcavage is the one to watch in the javelin and the shot put.

BOYS' PREVIEW
Glen Mills' Keon Rantin will be the one to watch in the 400 meters. Rantin will be looking to go sub-50 seconds early on in the season. In the 800 meters, Radnor's Peter Cooke is the top seed, but Great Valley's Brett Zatlin will look to challenge.
Souderton's Connor McMenamin will chase a quick time in the 3200 meters. The 1600 meters features Upper Darby's Syed Shah, Bonner & Prendie's David Whitfield, and Westtown's Ryan O'Donnell.
Starth Haven's Dayo Abeeb is fresh off a strong indoor season and he'll look to keep it going into outdoors. He's the top seed in the triple jump. In the shot put, watch for the Glen Mills duo of Semaj Robinson and Quadir Gibson.
