-It wasn't easy for #2 Naperville (Neuqua Valley) who needed a strong surge over the final mile to pull out the victory over #7 Hinsdale Central. It was the Tigers of Wheaton South had four runners in the top 10 just after the second mile and it appeared as though they would become victorious. However, the Wildcats rose to the occasion with junior Zach Kinne leading the way followed by mate senior Ryan Kennedy, producing a solid 1-2 finish. Kinne's winning time 15:07 was punctuated by a solid scoring pack which ended at 37 seconds. -Hinsdale Central battled and fought all race and finally pulled things out on the strength of a surge over the final half-mile that netted a narrow victory over Glenbard West. Actually Glenbard West looked as though they would take win when super star sophomore Katelynne Hart went out in front. As she ran solo, her teammates senior Lindsey Payne and junior Katie Hohe were in the top five. But in cross country wins and losses are decided by the 5th scorer, and the Hilltoppers had their 5th runner further back than Hinsdale Central.

Katelynne Hart quickly got her 2017 season off to a roaring start with a fast first mile in 5:22 and never looked back. The US Flo 50 #11 Hart continued to pound her foes and ultimately win in a meet record/course record 16:42. Evanston senior Enyaeva Michelin pulled away from her peers to take second in 17:21.
