Chagrin Falls' Annie Zimmer is the 2017 DII Ohio State Cross Country Champion.
Annie Zimmer won the DII OHSAA Ohio State Cross Country Championship on Saturday with her time of 18:13.60. Zimmer, who finished 2nd at last year's state meet, put forth a strong finishing kick to pass Beachwood's Leah Roter as both athletes were coming down the home stretch. Roter, the 2016 state champion, finished 2nd in 18:17.10.
It has been an exciting few weeks for Zimmer, as she recently committed to the University of Pennsylvania and now she caps off her high school cross country racing career with a state title!
