12 Pennsylvania Individuals & Relays Making National Noise Already

Kyle Garland (Germantown Academy) - Jumps, Sprints, Hurdles, & Throws

If there was any doubt about what Garland can't do (and I wasn't the one doubting), he should have proved you wrong in the opening month of the indoor track and field season.

The senior and future Georgia Bulldog has been nothing short of dominant on this young season. Garland put down PRs and nation-leading times in the 55-meter hurdles (7.25) and the 60-meter hurdles (7.88). He holds the US#1 spot in the high jump, having cleared 6-11. He's even thrown the shot put 54-3, a PA#2 and US#22.

Garland has also PR'd in the 55 meters (6.56), the indoor 200 meters (22.65), and the indoor 400 meters (50.76) and sits inside the top five in the Pennsylvania state rankings in each of those events. He long jumped 21-11.5, which isn't a PR, but still ranks him No. 4 in PA.

The reigning national champ in the pentathlon from New Balance Nationals Indoor last year even told us he has hopes of making Team USA in the heptathlon for the IAAF World Indoor Championships in the U.K. The nation's most complete athlete has shown he can do it all, and it matters little how many events he's contesting in a given meet.

Garland's 2018 will be huge.
