Girls' Shot Put
Payden Montana of Berwick is the strong favorite in the girls' shot put this season. After taking third at indoor states last year at Penn State, she rode that momentum through the outdoor season, culminating with a AAA state title and best throw of 47-3. She'll make her indoor debut Saturday.
But looking to challenge Montana will be the current PA#1 Piper Klinger of Selinsgrove. Klinger tossed her state-leading 40-6.75 at Dickinson to open up her season. That was over a four foot all-conditions PR.
