Top Talent To Descend Upon Lehigh: PTFCA Carnival Preview

Girls' Field Preview - PTFCA Indoor Track Carnival

High Jump

Six of the top 12 high jumpers in the state are set for Saturday. Easton Area's Kate Willshaw and Twin Valley's Kayla Gillen have been tied at PA#1 for much of the season with bests of 5-6 and have also proven to be very consistent. But also in this field is Lydia Bottelier of Palisades. She was second at indoor states and won the AA state title last spring, and this will be her season debut.

Also entered is Pottsgrove's Miazziah Rose (PA#3), Central Dauphin's Taye Dairo (PA#6), Wyoming Area's Shelby Stackhouse (PA#6) and Nazareth Area's Kristen Karavitch (PA#6) in what will be one of the day's best events.

Long Jump

Breana Gambrell of Athens Area enters Saturday at PA#1 and US#2. It's been an amazing senior season for the Penn State recruit, who jumped 20-1.5 at Ithaca College a few weeks ago. That's just an inch off Dawn Burrell's 1991 indoor state record leap of 20-2.5. Let's see what Gambrell can do this weekend!

Also in this field is Madison Langley-Walker of Upper Dublin, a two-time indoor state champion in the event. She currently sits at PA#5 in this loaded event. State College's Taylor Givens (PA#7), Penncrest's Tara Higgins (PA#13), Liberty's Grace Mittl are also entered.

Pole Vault

Mackenzie Horn of Manheim Township is back at it in the pole vault after a strong performance at this past weekend's Millrose Games. Horn sits at PA#1 and US#7 entering the weekend. She's also PA#2 all-time with her best of 13-3, so she'll look for another big jump at Lehigh.

Also in this stacked field is Hempfield's Carena Nottoli (PA#3), Loyalsock's Hailey Zurich (PA#4), State College's Lyndsey Reed (PA#6), Spring Ford's Melissa Israel (PA#9), and Scranton Preparatory's Victoria Atkinson (PA#9), and Lakeland's Corah Krantz (PA#9). Look for some big jumps here.

Shot Put

Two girls in Saturday's shot put field have thrown over 40 feet this season. Reading's Keeley Suzenski is having a great season and enters as the top seed. She tossed a PA#3 of 41-7.75 at Kutztown a few weeks ago. Also strong in this field is Piper Klinger of Selinsgrove. She threw 40-6.75 early in the season and will look to challenge Suzenski for the win this weekend.
