Robinson Triples Up At Butler

Hunter Robinson started her outdoor season off on a strong note.

The Avonworth/Northgate senior pulled off her patented sprint triple at Friday's Butler Invitational and came away with a familiar result: three wins. Robinson swept the sprints winning the 100, 400, and then coming back to win the 200 meters despite some chilly conditions in western Pennsylvania.

Robinson, who won WPIAL-3A titles in those three events last spring, got her outdoor season off to a flying start at Butler. Despite not competing during the indoor season, the Tulane recruit showed no signs of rust.

She went 12.27 to win the 100 meters, a PA#10. Then, out of lane 1, she took home 400 meter gold in a PA#3 time of 56.50. In the 200 meters at the end of a long, cold meet, she closed out the night winning in 25.13 (PA#4).
