Looking for Your School Records?

How many times has a new coach taken over a track program and all the previous school records get lost? Or what if you had an All American at your school 15 years ago and your current athletes have no shot at coming close to that mark?

Records are made to be broken, but you have to know what they are to set them as a goal.  Milesplit has spent the past year inputting all performances from Nationals, the CIAC class and open championships, all conferences and most major invitationals from the past 10-20 years into our database.   Now it is easy to find a fairly accurate list of your top performances in school history.

While there weren't any electronic records before the late 90s, and there are still some invitationals still to include, each athlete, alumni or fan of the sport can still have lots of fun comparing themselves to some of the great athletes in the past.

It is also a great tool for athletes to set reachable goals for themselves.  Don't have a shot at breaking that All American's record?  Maybe making the top 10 of your school's all time performance list might be a goal.  What about the freshman who think they will never be as fast as that senior?  Now he or she can go back and look at what your senior captain ran as a freshman and it will give them confidence they can make similar improvements.

Comparing yourself to others is the best part of track and field.  Numbers don't lie.  (Just don't tell that to any old timers who ran on cinder tracks.  They will always claim they would be faster running on the tracks of today.)

Now instead of searching through pages and pages of old meet results, Milesplit has compiled the most comprehensive list of Connecticut track results all in one place.

All you have to do is click here to register and for only $20 a month or $48 a year you get access to our entire data base of results, interviews, race videos, pictures and world class athletes' professional training plans.
