Who To Watch For: Sydni Townsend (Neumann Goretti)
Why?: We really could have chosen any number of Neumann Goretti girls to watch for, but we're going with the senior Townsend here. Townsend, a Pitt signee, enters the District 12 Championships as the top 300-meter hurdler in the state. She dropped a 42.92 in the event at the PCL Championships, which is a PR for Townsend, who already has two AA state titles to her name in the event. She's also apart of NG's dominant 4x400-meter relay, which went 3:45.22 at the Penn Relays.
What to expect: Townsend is showing that she may be in the best fitness of her career and it's been a terrific career at that, since she emerged onto the scene as a talented freshman. Her PR at PCLs proved that she's ready or another drop in Philadelphia this week. The Saints are loaded with talent from the sprints and up through 800 meters, so look for a special D12 Champs from Townsend and her teammates.

Who To Watch For: Miles Green (Saint Joseph's Prep)
Why?: Green is the state's top 400 meter runner and it's not very close. He's run sub-48 in each of the three times he's run the open 400 and surely he's run a few more sub-48s as relay splits. He's PA#6 in the 300-meter hurdles (38.92) and PA#1 in the 400-meter hurdles (52.30). Green is also apart of the Saint Joseph's Prep 4x400-meter relay, which won the indoor national title and set the state record.
What to expect: The Virginia Tech-bound Green has proven to be one of the state's all-time greats in the 400 meters and in the intermediate hurdles, but he's not done yet. He's yet to win an outdoor state title after injury derailed the end of his junior PIAA season. It's unclear which events Green will be focusing on, but he'll be a strong district favorite regardless. Look out for his anchor leg on the 4x400, too!
