Team Breakdown: PIAA District 10 Boys

D10-A Boys - Team Breakdown

Cochranton will be shooting for its second straight D10-A title after a strong showing last year that saw the team put three boys in the top eight at districts and then take seventh in the state. All three of those boys are back, including Noah Bernarding, who took second in the district and is D10-A's top returner for this fall. Stephen Clulow and Jac Cokley, along with the rest of Cochranton's varsity team are all back from last year.

If all works out, the boys from Cochranton should be looking at another district crown.

The teams that went 2-3 in D10-A last season -- Seneca and North East -- have both shifted to 2A for the start of this season, meaning the door is open for another team to make a move into states position. It should be an open battle for Hershey, too.

Cambridge Springs was fourth in the district last season. Five of the team's seven varsity runners are back from last year. CS will be led by Alec Bidwell, who took 12th at districts last year. Commodore Perry (seventh in '17) should figure into that conversation as well. Jared Mink, 15th at districts last year, will head up this team which is all back from last year. West Middlesex was eighth at districts last year, but it brings back its full '17 varsity squad, too, with a talented top runner in Luke Mantzell. All three teams look to be the top contenders for the second spot in D10-A.

Wilmington, Union City Area, and Northwestern will also look to get in the mix in what should be an exciting race for the top.
