Expect an interesting race for the District 11 Class AA title this fall. Some top names from last year have moved to 1A, but there's some good talent remaining and more talent incoming to AA this season.
Pine Grove Area's Christina DiFalco may be the one to beat. As a sophomore in 2-16, DiFalco was second in D11-A and then a week a half later placed second in the state. She battled injuries last season, but still took second in D11-A and 25th at states. Now in AA, DiFalco will look to close out her career on a high note.
North Schuylkill's Cori McCormick was fourth in D11-AA last season. She took 20th in the state and now enters her sophomore season as one to watch. She ran a quick 19:19 to take second in the Schuylkill League last season.
Among the other contenders is the district are Allentown Central Catholic's Sydney Harris, Palisades' Amy Farese, Bethlehem Catholic's Lauren Bunke, Tamaqua's Frances Kabana, and a deep Northwestern Lehigh team led by Madeline Consuelos, Kailyn Jones, and Alyssa Zack.
