Taylor Allderdice will look to run the table again in District 8, but it could see some strong challenges from newcomers. Maggie Lincoln will be going for her second straight district title. She was second as a sophomore, then she moved up to the top spot last season.
Evelyn Tipper, Lincoln's Allderdice teammate, was second last fall as a freshman, just four seconds off the win. Now a sophomore, she could take the top spot this season.
But now that District 10 will compete with D8, it throws a new wrinkle in the district. Erie's Olivia Nola placed 12th in District 6 Class AAA. Now that her team is in D8, she'll have a shot at the win. Watch out for McDowell's Maddie Petersen, too. She was 19th in D6-AAA last year and will look to move up in D8 this year.
Expect a close race for the win this season in a new-look Pittsburgh City League.
