Last year, Abigail Brown of Calvary Christian Academy ended Emma Seifried's three year run atop District 1 Class A. This fall, Brown, a rising senior, will aim to close out her high school XC career with a second straight district title. Brown was 29th at states last year, so she'll be looking to move up to that top 25 state medal territory this season.
Kayleigh Doyle of Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr will be looking to return the D1-A title back to Sacred Heart. Doyle was second at districts the last two years. Last year, she was 11 seconds off Brown for the title. She'll hope to bridge that gap and challenge for the win this season.
Calvary Christian's Leah Angstadt was fourth last year as a freshman, and back this season looking to move up, Sacred Heart's Chiara O'Keefe took fifth last season and returns this fall. The Jenkintown duo of Alexandra Byler and Emma Pizer and Dock Mennonite's Sara Kennel are among the other returners in D1-A back from the top ten in last year's championship race.
