McDowell Invitational (Brown's Farm - Erie, PA)
PA#4 Hannah Schupansky of Oakland Catholic made a big statement in her season debut. The senior dropped a time of 18:00 to win by over a minute at Brown's Farm in Erie. Last year, she was fifth in 19:42. Schupansky also led the PA#2 Oakland squad to the win with 57 points, 64 points ahead of second.
Hampton's Katherine Fedko ran well to take second in 19:06 and Fairview's Maddison Hayes was third in 19:11.
In the boys' race, PA#15 Josh Lewis of North East went 16:00 for the win, starting his season off with a solid victory. Harbor Creek took the next two spots with Ryan Starvaggi (PA#13) taking second in 16:26 and Aiden Weber (PA#20) was third in 16:51.
New Castle, one of the WPIAL's top AA squads, won the team title with 90 points. Taylor Allderdice was second with 101 points and Butler took third with 107 points.
