Loudoun Valley Sweeps, Parks Flies At PTXC 10

PTXC 10 Girls' Blue Race - Recap

Up front in the girls' Blue Race was a display of a New Jersey veteran and a New Jersey newcomer. In the end, the newcomer earned the win. In her first high school race, Montgomery's Caroline Mehlhorn - a freshman - pulled away to win in 19:01. It was a time that would have placed her fourth in the Gold Race. Her teammate and fellow frosh, Elizabeth Henderson, was fifth in 20:09.

In second was Montville Twp. (NJ) senior Anna George, who covered the 5K course in 19:27. Cedar Cliff's Corinne Firestone placed third in 19:50, just ahead of Calvary Christian's Abigail Brown, who was fourth in 19:54.

The Loudoun Valley girls (a 'B' varsity squad) pulled out the team win with 93 points. Freshman Cecelia Fetterolf led the way for the Vikings with an 11th place finish. LV had a 45 second 1-5 gap. Honesdale was second with 172 points and Calvary Christian was third with 178 points.
