RWB Girls' A/AA Race - Recap

Annie Wicker got her season off to a flying start. The Quaker Valley junior, who entered the weekend at PA#9, ran away with the win in the A/AA race, posting a time of 18:58. That was good enough for the second fastest time of the meet in a solo effort.

Central Cambria showed off its team strength, dominating the AA section of the race. Paige Wess (second in 19:31), Stella Kuntz (third in 19:33), Ella Vrabel (fifth in 20:32), and Faith Wilson (sixth in 20:33) all posted strong performances for the Red Devils as it scored 28 points to win the team race. Greensburg Salem was second with 69 points.

Bell Vernon's Grace Henderson clocked another strong race. She was fourth in AA in 19:58 after winning at the River Trail Cup last weekend.

In the 1A portion of the race, Vincentian Academy notched a win over Marion Center Area, 46-51. Tara Lucot's fifth place finish in 20:18 led the way for Vincentian in a battle of two of the state's top 1A teams.  MacKenzie Walker, with a fourth place finish in 20:05, to lead Marion Center.

The top individual spot in 1A went to North Catholic's Alaina Hicks, who continued her strong start to her career. Her time of 19:34 was the fourth best overall in the A/AA race. She was ahead of fellow freshman, Corinn Brewer of Greensburg Central Catholic, who ran a time of 19:50. Haley Hamilton of Our Lady of Sacred Heart was third in 1A in 20:01.
