Isabel Sagar's flying start to the 2018 season continued into Friday. After running 17:31 at Lock Haven last week, the Loyalsock senior proved that was no fluke, running away with the win at Penn State in 18:05. She was able to hold off some strong out-of-state talent, most notably the University (WV) duo of Zoe Shetty (second) and Caroline Kirby (third).

State College won its second meet in as many weeks. Paced by Kileigh Kane, who was making her season debut, SC scored 66 points to narrowly defeat University (WV) by two. Kane was sixth overall in 19:23, followed on her team by Jordan Reed, who took ninth in 19:40. PA#1-1A Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy was fifth overall in the meet with 156 points.

In the boys' race, the win went to Penns Valley Area sophomore Colton Sands. After a second place finish at Big Valley last week, Sands took the victory on Friday, running a 5K PR of 15:54, showing he is one of the state and 1A's top runners. His teammate Brendan Colwell was third in 16:14, just behind University (WV) frosh Larry Josh Edwards, who was second.

It the team race, the State College boys also won their second meet in a row. Bennett Norton's seventh place finish in 16:30 paced the Little Lions, while Owen Isham was right behind him, taking eighth in 16:40. Lewisburg Area showed some good strength, taking third with 103 points.
