KENNETT SQUARE, PA -- On a foggy day in Unionville on a damp and muddy, the Ches-Mont held its championship meet. There were runaway team champs, while the individual champs turned in some impressive performances.
Jenna Mulhern continued her impressive freshman campaign, capturing her first (but likely not her last) Ches-Mont title. The West Chester Henderson ninth grader went 18:32 to take the win in some muddy conditions on the course. Mulhern is solidifying herself as one of the top AAA runners in the state in only her first high school season.
In the team battle, the PA#3 Warriors from Henderson showed off their front-running. After Mulhern's one stick, Henderson took spots three and five. Courtney Alexander came across third in 19:25, while Courtney Kitchen was fifth in 19:40. All tallied, Henderson scored 43 points for the win.
Unionville was second with 79 points, paced by freshman Sarah Coates' sixth place finish in 20:15. West Chester East was third, just six points off the hosts. Downingtown West, behind Aliza Thir's fourth place run.

West Chester East's Joshua Lewin ran well to take second in 16:28, proving his fitness is at a good level as we head deeper into the postseason. Downingtown West took the next two spots with Payton Sewall (third in 16:30) and Isaac Valderrabano (fourth in 16:39).
The PA#2 Downingtown West boys followed up their solid Carlisle Invite win from last week with another Ches-Mont win. The Whippets scored just 32 points for a decisive 58 point win. West Chester East took second in the team race with 90 points, while hosts Unionville were third with 115 points, just ahead of fourth place Great Valley (117 points).
