For the first time since 2009, a freshman won a state title in AAA girls.
Jenna Mulhern of West Chester Henderson ran to the win last week, pulling away from a strong veteran group of girls. Mulhern clocked an 18:42, the second fastest time of the day. Sara Sargent of Pennsbury was the last ninth grader to win a AAA individual state crown; Sargent ran 18:35 to win in 2009.
