During the indoor season, the Warwick girls showed what they were capable of, taking second to Neumann Goretti by 7 points. In outdoors, the Warriors put it all together to run away with the AAA team title, putting 44 points on the board.
Kate Dickow got things started off well on Saturday, placing third in a hotly contested girls 3200 meters. Dickow ran 10:20.08, which was faster than the previous meet record in the event. Her 6 points got the ball rolling. Then the sprinters got rolling.
Warwick put forth an incredible 2-3-4 finish in the 100 meter final, with Lily Palacio-Lewis taking second, Leah Graybill taking third, and Meghan Quinn coming in fourth. That accounted for 19 points from a single event! Those three came back to make up three-fourths of Warwick's 4x100 meter relay, which took second in a close final to Truman. Graybill returned to earn a third place finish in the 200 meter final. The Warriors' 4x400 meter relay closed out the meet with a fourth place finish in 3:53.16.
There were no individual or relay gold medals for Warwick this past weekend. But in the end, Warwick left little doubt about which squad would bring home the team competition gold. That wealth of sprint depth, that was super busy the entire weekend, and one very talented distance runner made it happen for Warwick.
North Penn, which medaled in all three relays, and saw an individual long jump title from Natalie Kwortnik, took home second with 29 points.
