Saturday capped off the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships from the University of Texas in Austin. PA had a big weekend overall, with a number of high school alums finishing out the season with All American honors.
Here's a look at how some of PA's top alums fared at NCAAs:
The University of Southern California's Chanel Brissett (Cheltenham '17) put on a show on Saturday. To start the day off, Brissett, a sophomore, led off for USC's winning 4x100-meter relay, which ran 42.21 for the national title. Later in the day, she returned to take second in the 100 meter hurdles in 12.52 to Arkansas's Janeek Brown. That's a big personal best and the No. 3 time currently in the world. Brown won in 12.40, the current world leader.
Madison Wiltrout (Connellsville '17) of the University of North Carolina showed she is returning to top form. The redshirt freshman and high school national record holder took home third place in the javelin with a toss of 181-01. Bucknell's Maura Fiamoncini (Mount Carmel Area '17) placed ninth with a best throw of 172-9.
In the 800 meters, Allie Wilson (Strath Haven '14) on Monmouth University took fifth in a competitive final. Wilson, a senior, closed out her collegiate career with a PR of 2:02.56. In the 1,500 meters, University of Rhode Island's Lotte Black (Wissahickon '16) placed fourth in the finals. Her time of 4:13.02 is .01 faster than her previous PR, which came in the prelims of the 1,500 two days prior.
