Greatness can be seen as not only the accomplishments you have achieved, but also in the way you went about your craft.

Thelma Davies of Girard College High School leaves a remarkable legacy and Pennsylvania and the country through a perseverance and persistence that defined her career.

Davies has rewritten the Pennsylvania record books in the sprints over her four years at Girard. She's headed for LSU later this year, where her dreams in the NCAA and beyond lie. But it hasn't been the easiest road. Tragedy and hardship lined her path to greatness.

Last weekend, Davies won her first national title -- the 200 meter crown at New Balance Nationals Outdoor. This weekend, she is going after national glory. She's running the 100 and 200 meters at the USATF U20 Championships in Florida. A spot on Team USA for the Pan-American U20 Championships is on the line and Davies is more than ready.

As the clock ticks away on Davies' high school career, we take an in-depth look back at her career, and get a glimpse into the moments that helped mold the sprint star into one of the greatest athletes to ever come through Pennsylvania.
