Loudoun Valley Sweeps Again: PTXC 11 Recap


PTXC 11 - Girls Blue Race Recap

For a second straight year, Caroline Mehlhorn of Montgomery (NJ) captured the Blue Race title at PTXC. Last year was her debut as a freshman. Now as a sophomore, Mehlhorn proved herself once again in her season opener, running 19:03 for the win. Mehlhorn distanced herself from the pack in the last half of the race and ran to the win.

Peyton Ellis of Boiling Springs made a big debut on Saturday. The freshman went 19:15 to take second in her first career high school invitational. Lake Lehman's Abby Paczewski took third in 19:40, her second straight top 3 finish of the season. Loudoun Valley's Elise Abbe was fourth in 19:51, followed by Central Bucks East's Mckenna Brophy, who was fifth in 20:03.

This race was the final varsity race of the day, completing the sweep for Loudoun Valley, which won all four varsity races on the day. LV scored 59 points, 71 ahead of second place. Lewisburg Area was third and Daniel Boone was third, leading a strong PA contingent in the Blue Race.
