Dry & Faster This Year: Carlisle Invite Preview

Boys' Champions Race Preview - Carlisle Invitational

Garrett Baublitz will look to follow up his back-to-back wins with another win and he'll be favored to do so. The Juniata senior won at Big Spring two weeks ago and then won the Blue Race at Foundation last week. The 4:11 miler has been running well lately and he could have a quick time in store for Carlisle on Saturday.

Indiana Area's Kendall Branan is off to a good start. He was third at Foundation last week and should be ready for another big race this weekend. Kennett's Gavin Maxwell will aim to give him a challenge. He's had a couple strong early season performances and should be near the front. Bedford's Van May ran a PR of 16:28 to take second at Altoona last week. He should be up there, too. Muhlenberg's Jonathan Thrush, the Northern Bedford duo of Ian Zimmerman and Ian Sherlock, and Red Land's Aiden Gonder are among the others that should be factors in the Champions Race.

The team race should get interesting with Indiana Area, Central Cambria, Upper Dublin, and Wissahickon among the strong teams in the field. Indiana Area was third at Foundation in the team standings and will look to further solidify itself as one of the state's top AA squads.
