On the heels of a big cross country season, the Downingtown West boys proved they are ready for more on the track.
At Saturday's TFCAofGP Meet #3 in Division I, the D-West boys threw down a state leader in the distance medley relay. The Whippets clocked a time of 10:42.74 for the victory in a closely contesting race with Garnet Valley and Central Bucks South. Anchor leg Declan Rymer split an F.A.T. 4:29.88 for 1,600 meters to close out the win for D-West.
That 10:42 is also a US No. 5 time for D-West, which won the PIAA Class AAA state title during the XC season. Garnet Valley took second in a PA No. 3 and US No. 10 time of 10:48.07 and CB South was third in a PA No. 5 and US No. 12 10:49.33.
In the Division II DMR, the Radnor boys flexed some muscle absolutely dominating the field to win in 10:49.21. That time was good enough for a PA No. 4 and US No. 11. Radnor lapped the entire field en route to their win by 52 seconds over second place.
