Meet Preview: PTFCA Indoor Track Carnival

PTFCA Carnival - Girls' Field Preview

Arguably the event of the day on Saturday will come in the girls' pole vault as many of the state's best will compete against each other ahead of the March 1 state meet. The favorite is current US#3 Sydney Horn of Manheim Township. The senior High Point recruit has a best of 13-6 and is fresh off a second place finish at Millrose. Also entered is PA#2 Liliana Cohen of Germantown Academy and PA#3 Gabriella Recce of Central Dauphin, who tied for third at Millrose. Both Cohen and Recce should make a good run at 13 this week. Brooke Corson of Owen J. Roberts is in the field, too. She enters Saturday at PA#5. This will be a can't-miss event on the backstretch runway!

Recce is the top seed in the long jump. The senior has stood atop the state rankings since the first week of the season and is yet to lose this season in the event. Recce will look to top her season best of 19-3.75 in the long.

Spring Ford's Nene Mokonchu is the one to beat in the high jump. Her season best of 5-6 has her at PA#3 entering the weekend. Germantown Academy's Meghan Toscano is the top seed in the shot put. She comes in at PA#4 and US#10, and she'll look to move up this week.
