Throwback Interview: Ciccolini After Her 2nd State Title

Skylar Ciccolini closed out her legendary PIAA career last spring with her second straight Class AAA state title in the javelin.

The Mifflin County senior threw 169-3, her state meet best, to capture the repeat crown. Ciccolini was second as a sophomore in 2017 to national record holder Madison Wiltrout before taking the victory in 2018 as a junior.

Last year's state title came on the heels of an impressive senior season for Ciccolini, who tossed the US No. 2 and PA No. 2 all-time performance of 184-2, which was a foot and a half off Wiltrout's national record mark.

This spring would have marked Ciccolini's freshman season at the University of Missouri. The NCAA season, however, was canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Hear what Ciccolini had to say about her senior season and her state title in her state meet interview after.
