American JavFest Has Been Cancelled

American JavFest, one of the top javelin competitions in the nation that brings together many of the best throwers in the country and beyond, has been cancelled for 2020, theNSAF announced earlier this week. The meet was originally scheduled to take place on July 24 and 25 at East Stroudsburg Area South.

"The district's school board stated in a meeting last week that it could not make the facility available that weekend and could not do so on any other weekend in time for the event," the release stated. The coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of outdoor track and field seasons all across the country this spring and summer.

American JavFest started in 2015 and has been home to a number of top high school performances in the event. The meet has seen a number of 200+ foot throws from boys, as well as many 140+ foot throws on the girls side.

The NSAF will be refunding entry fees this week.
