There were a pair of big meets this past weekend that featured some PA talent. There was the XC Town USA Meet of Champions in Indiana and the Garden State Track Club Showcase #4 in New Jersey. Check out recaps below.
XC Town USA Meet of Champion (Terra Haute, IN)
A week after winning her second straight AAA state title, Mia Cochran of Moon Area headed to Terra Haute, Indiana to compete against some of the nation's best. Cochran came away ninth in the talented "Championship" field, running a time of 17:53 in some windy midwest conditions.
Northeastern's Margaret Carroll wasn't in the Championship race, but the senior still came away with a strong showing. Carroll ran away with the victory in the "Blue" race, dropping a time of 18:20 for the win. Her time was 28 seconds ahead of second place in her race. That time would have placed Carroll 22nd in the Championship race.
Arielle Breuninger of J.P. McCaskey took 41st in the Championship race in a time of 18:46.
On the boys' side, Weber Long of Greencastle-Antrim ran the fastest time of the meet by a PA boy. Long went 16:01 for 42nd in the Championship race.
LaSalle's Zachary Brill was sixth in the Blue race, running a time of 16:21. Northeastern's Cole Perry went 16:32 for 13th in the Blue race. LaSalle's Drew Brill, running in the Championship race, took 86th in 16:34.
