Martin & Barnhill Drop Fast Times In NJ

A pair of PA's top distance runners opened up their outdoor seasons with some fast times at the Garden State Track Club (GSTC) East Coast Winter Championships in Edison, New Jersey.

Archbishop Wood's Gary Martin ran a PA No. 1 time in the 800 meters, while Downingtown West's Aiden Barnhill clocked a PA No. 1 in the 3,000 meters.

Martin placed fourth in the 800, running a new personal best time of 1:54.98. The junior is coming off a big winter that saw him drop fast times in the mile, 3K, and 2 mile, but he dropped down in distance on Saturday and came away with another impressive performance.

Barnhill took fourth in the 3K in a time of 8:38.67. Counting polar bear times from the winter, Barnhill's time ranks as the fifth fastest outdoor 3K time of the year so far this year.
