Men's Race Results

LANCASTER, Pa. - Junior Bryan Beegle won the individual 6K championship at the Battle for the Buggy on another soggy Saturday from Lancaster County Park with a time of 19:58.81 while the Shippensburg University men's cross country team continued its success during their fall season with a second-place finish.

Shippensburg placed four runners among the Top 20 while facing adverse course conditions yet again. The Lancaster area was soaked with two days of drenching rain and the football match at nearby Millersville University was delayed due to lightning.

Sophomore Eric Evans finished fifth with a time of 20:40.70, while freshman John Reilly finished seventh with a time of 20:44.21. Sophomore Greg Ahlswede, who was the runner-up at last year's Battle for the Buggy, rounded out the Top 20 with a time of 21:16.61.

Among the other racers for Shippensburg included freshman Logan Wright (24th place; 21:09), sophomore Matt Gelety (26th place; 21:32) and freshman Kevin Borillo (42nd place; 22:06).

Shippensburg has improved each successive week leading into next weekend's PSAC Championship meet and brings considerable depth into the race. The race will be held from at 10 a.m. on Saturday from Edinboro University.
