Watch Joey Gant Wins 2 At Coatesville

Last week was a big week for Joey Gant. The Pennridge junior ran to PA No. 1s in the 100 meters and 200 meters at a dual meet early in the week. Then he came back to claim wins in those same events at Saturday's Coatesville Invitational.

Gant started his day, winning the 100 meters in 10.83. He came back in the 200 meters to win a good battle with Coatesville's Lebron Bessick. The two were neck-and-neck through about the first 150 meters, until Gant pulled ahead in the closing quarter of the race to take the win in 21.77.

In a dual meet four days prior, Gant ran FAT times of 10.79 in the 100 meters and 21.36 in the 200 meters. Both of those times are the fastest in the state of Pennsylvania.

After missing out on his sophomore season of outdoor track due to the pandemic, Gant is showing that he's only gotten better since he was last able to fully compete. He'll be one to watch among a deep group of sprinters in PA this spring.

Gant will return to Coatesville next month for the District 1 Championships. After his performances from the last week, he's asserted himself as the early favorite. Watch his 100m win above and his 200m below along with an interview.
