LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Shippensburg University sophomore runner
Lindsey Hollenshead was named the PSAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by conference officials after her second-place finish on Saturday at the Battle For the Buggy in Lancaster. It is her first career honor.
Hollenshead was the top collegiate finisher at this past weekend's race, hosted by Elizabethtown College and Millersville University at Lancaster County Central Park. Helping her squad to a third-place showing out of 12 teams, Hollenshead finished second overall in a time of 24:50.04 on the 6K course. Placing behind only an alumnae of Elizabethtown, Hollenshead bested 86 other runners on the rain-soaked course.
Shippensburg will compete in the PSAC Championships at 11 a.m. on Saturday from Edinboro University.
