AA Boys Discus Preview
As much as the Class AA shot put is a virtual lock, the discus in AA is almost wide open as only junior Will Patton of Shenango and senior Mitch Miles of Laurel were able to top 160 feet in grabbing their tickets to Shippensburg.
Those marks were the best big meet throws this spring from the top District 7 qualifiers but trail District 6 champ Teagan Sharp of Homer Center and Aidan Mull of Reynolds amongst the state qualifiers at the top of the yearly AA list. Rushard Williams of Wyomissing, Zach Morro of Pen Argyl and Cam Wagner of Redbank Valley grabbed district championships and should be factors.
And don't forget about Wilmington's Connor Vass-Gal. Although his big meet PR of 163-2 came before the global pandemic, the senior won District 10 and always rises to the occasion when the stakes are high.
