Individuals Breakdown

Lansdale Catholic's Isabella Greco had a strong sophomore season last year and it all started in the fall when she cruised to the District 12 individual crown in AA. Greco wound up 48th at the state meet. She's fresh off a good spring too and looks to be the one to beat again this season.

There are a host of other strong girls to watch for out of D12-AA. Headlining the challengers in Erica Panei of Creative & Performing Arts. Now a senior, Panei won the AAA district title two years ago and was second in the Public League this past spring. She will be a strong factor this fall.

Cardinal O'Hara's Sarah Lorenz was third at districts last year, while Neumann Goretti's Najah Hunter was fourth. Both girls are back this season. Bonner-Prendie's Ava Ezzie was seventh in the district, but 87th in the state; she'll be one to keep an eye on. The same goes for the Masterman duo of Taryn Flaherty (fourth in the Public League) and Lola Milder (seventh in the Public League) and Archbishop Ryan's Rebecca Dalton.

Team Breakdown

Last year was supposed to be the first season that District 12 AA was know allotted three state qualifying spots to Hershey, up one from two in past years. But the pandemic made it do only one team from each district qualified for the state meet. The team that got through in 2020 was Msgr. Bonner & Apb. Prendergast, which captured the district title by 9 points.

Bonner-Prendie graduates four of seven from it's state qualifying team, but has a strong top two back in Ezzie and CeCe Perkins. Archbishop Ryan, which was unlucky second in the district last year, meanwhile, brings back all but one from its top seven last year. Ryan will look to flip the script in 2021 and make a run at the district title. Bonner-Prendie, though, will be a tough team to beat. It will ultimately come down to depth here.

Masterman is a squad that can always be counted on to make some noise. The Public League runners-up from this past year moved up from A to AA for last fall, but this will be the team's first true season in AA in many years after last year was lost for the Public League. Look for Masterman to make a run at the PCL squads, and certainly threaten for a top three spot.

Neumann Goretti, Lansdale Catholic, Archbishop Wood, and Cardinal O'Hara will all have a shot at the top three if each team can add some all-important depth ahead of the fall.
