Individuals Breakdown

Brady Bigger, the 2020 District 6 AAA and state XC champion from State College, is off to BYU this fall and we'll see a new champion this season in D6-AAA. It was a top-heavy season last year in the district, with the top three boys each going under 16 minutes. All three of those boys have graduated, though.

The title this season looks fairly up for grabs. The favorites look to be the State College duo of Trent Dinant and Sean Adams and the Hollidaysburg duo of Ben Love and Chris Love.

Ben Love was fourth in the district and 61st at states, while Chris Love was sixth in the district and 41st at states -- the best of any D6-AAA returner. Dinant was fifth in the district and 51st at the state meet. Adams was seventh at districts and 58th at states. It's hard to separate these boys by any metric. It should be a close one this season.

Others to watch for include Mifflin County's Christopher Royer and Conrad Coffey, Williamsport's Ethan Holcomb, and State College's Nick Sloff. The battle for those individual state spots should be close.

Team Preview

The State College Area boys won their ninth straight district title last year, and this year, the Little Lions will look to make it an even ten-in-a-row. SC loses three varsity boys from last season, including Bigger, but have a good group back led by Dinant and Adams. They were fifth a year ago, but not too far off the spots in front of them. This team always retools well and should be the big favorite for the district title and with it, the lone state qualifying spot. From there, the Little Lions are always a threat to finish inside the top five at the state meet.

After that, it could be very close for the next places. Altoona Area, Mifflin County, Williamsport Area, and Hollidaysburg Area are all fairly evenly matched. Like always, it will come down to depth for those teams.
