Individuals Breakdown

With seven of the top ten from last year's District 1 Class AA meet, there will be a lot of new faces up near the front this season, and it should a relatively open race for the district title. The top returner based on finish last year is Holy Ghost Prep's James Corbett. He was fifth a year ago and then 87th at the state meet. He'll be the one to beat heading into this season.

Corbett will be challenged by a host of solid returners. Lower Moreland's Jack Becker was eighth at the district meet last year, just missing state qualifying by a few seconds. He'll have a lot of motivation heading into this season.

Others to keep an eye on include New Hope-Solebury's Jack Feehan and Shae Woods and Holy Ghost's Ciaran Chambers and Joseph Smith.

Team Breakdown

It should be a close one for the team title this year in D1-AA with just one state quyalifying spot up for grabs. It should come down to last year's district champions, Holy Ghost Preparatory, as well as Lower Moreland and New Hope-Solebury. HGP returns three of its top seven, and so does New Hope. Lower Moreland has four boys back from last season.

Bishop Shanahan and Pope John Paul II are a couple teams looking to get in the mix here.

Last fall, Holy Ghost took home the district title, and with it, the lone state spot last year fairly comfortably. Repeating is never easy, but this team looks to have some good pieces in place. Expect a close race, and the team that can do a better job filling out the back half of its varsity squad could be the team that comes out on top.
