Conestoga teammates Kacie O'Neil and Marta Klebe ran PA #3 and #4 800's, going 2:17.6 and 2:18.4, respectively. Megan McGarrity of St. Basil Academy ran 5:17.3 to place 5th in the 1600 meter run, and West Chester Henderson ran 9:51.5 in the 4x800 to finish 11th. For the boys, West Chester Henderson ran a new PA #1 time in the distance medley with a time of 10:28.7 to place 4th, and Shane Lutz of Twin Valley ran a PA#5 time of 1:58.9 to place 3rd in the 800 meter run. |

Emily Cable of Villa Maria ran 1:01.02 to win the 400 meter dash, Taylor Caecella of Downingtown East ran 2:22.35 to win the 800 meter run, and Liz Barrett ran 5:16.92 to win the one mile run. In the relays, Coatesville ran 1:50.15 to win the 4x200 and in the field events, Jessica Matsinger of Great Valley won the triple jump with a mark of 35-01.50. In the boys invitational 3000 meter run, Will Kellar of West Chester Henderson led four runners under the state qualifying time (9:03.63) with his winning performance of 9:00.17. |

Welcome to the postseason! And for many individuals and relays, the postseason got off to a great start! The meet featured 149 state qualifying performances and many of PA’s best were a part of the fun! What did Carlton do now? Try a top 15 all-time long jump!
Allison Vanek of Wilson Area and Lauren Terstappen of Phoenixville both cleared 12-3 in the pole vault for PA#1 honors, with Vanek earning the victory on misses. Central Bucks East (Jenny Guidera (3:51.9), Ali Gillen (62.5), Veronica Eder (2:31.6), Katie Kinkead (5:07.9) won the DMR with a PA#1 time of 12:33.96, and Cierra White of Engineering and Science edged out reigning 60 meter dash state champion Rayiana Johnson of Chester 7.67-7.68. Johnson would rebound and run a 25.19 to win the 200 meter dash for a PA#2 mark and led off the winning 4x200 meter relay team with a time of 1:45.26. Brittany Howell of Cheltenham won the long jump with a PA#2 mark of 18-3.25, one inch better than PA#3 Rachel Van Metre of Strath Haven (18-2.25).
Altoona’s Brady Gehret took a break from his main events, but still won the 60 meter dash with a PA#2 time of 6.94 to edge out current PA#1 Alex Kenney of State College (6.95). Kenney would come back and win the 200 in a PA#3 time of 22.35.
Mick Coleman of William Tennent cleared 15 feet even to win the pole vault and earn PA#2 honors. In the relays, Tom Mallon (Right in PTXC Photo) split 4:19.4, including a 59.3 last 400 meters to bring Central Bucks South from behind to win the distance medley with a PA#2 time of 10:39.89 and a meet record. Abington also set a meet record in the 4x800 meter relay, running 8:04.99.

Iman Wilkerson of Penn Hills ran 25.95 to win the 200 meters and the 60 meter dash in 7.95, teammate Jordan Lee ran 59.31 to win the 400 meter dash, and Brittany Edwards of Baldwin won the long jump with a mark of 16-08.25. For the boys, Brandon Ifill of Penn Hills won the 60 meter dash in 7.14 and the 200 meter dash in 23.04. Teammate Micah Murray won the 400 meters with a time of 51.85, and Penn Hills ran 3:28.70 to win the 4x400 meter relay. Other PA highlights include Canon-McMillan’s Nick Gibson winning the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.69, Baldwin’s Bobby Bishop won the 1600 meter run in 4:35.18 and the 3200 meter run in 9:59.21, and Jacob Hensh of Laurel Highlands cleared 14 feet even to win the pole vault. |

02/14 | West Catholic girls set the tone early and won the team championship with 101 points over runner up St. Hubert’s (76) and 3rd place Cardinal O’Hara (75). West Catholic started hot from the opening event, running a PA#1 and US#8 time 1:42.88 to win the 4x200 meter relay (Michelle Davis, Chante Moore, Caela Williams, Jada Steward). Chante Moore then won the 60 meter dash with a PA#4 time of 7.74, and then she led a 1-2-3 West Catholic sweep in the 400 meters with a PA#3 time of 58.11, with Michelle Davis running a PA#5 58.28 for 2nd. The duo of Davis and Moore then led a 1-2-3-4 sweep in the 200, with Davis winning in a PA#3 time of 25.34 and Moore running 25.39. Other girls highlights include Anna McCloskey of Cardinal O’Hara throwing a PA#7 39-10 to win the shot put, Kelly Hooven of St. Hubert’s won the long jump with a mark of 17-03.75 and Conwell Egan’s Logan Brenker won the triple jump with a mark of 35-00.25 The boys meet came down to the final event between three teams to crown the team champion, and Cardinal O’Hara’s victory in the 4x400 meter relay in 3:32.97 won them the team championship with 82.5 points over runner up St. Joseph’s Prep (76) and 3rd place Lasalle (75). The team title was to come down to the final event, the 4x800, but laps were miscounted, resulting in many teams running short. League officials decided that the race would be voided, not only for results, but toward the team score.
Chris O’Sullivan won the one mile run with a time of 4:27.79, Kevin Day won the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.75, Beau Whitman of Lasalle (In photo by George Craney) cleared a PA#5 height of 14-05 to win the pole vault. It was a PR for the junior. |

Hempfield Area's Rachel Serafin tuned up for the upcoming post-season meets with a 39-7 throw. She is currently PA#1 with her late January toss of 43-3.5. Teammate Gino Pilato moved into PA#10 with a season best and PR by over three feet of 51-01.50. Both Serafin and Pilato are juniors.
