ERIE, PA.--Julie Molloy scored a game-high 16 points when Slippery Rock University's women's basketball team took a 63-39 loss at Gannon on Wednesday night. The Rock is now 5-17 overall and 2-7 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division. 

The last time SRU failed to break the 40-point mark was against California in the 2005-06 season in the PSAC playoffs. The Rock took a 52-39 loss in that game. 

Amanda Mikatavage was the only other Rock player in double-figures, recording 10 points. Grace Palucis led the team with four rebounds. Nikki Presto dished out four assists and three players recorded three steals. 

Gannon (25-0 overall, 9-0 PSAC-W) had four players in double-figures led by Julie Kleber's 13 points. Brittany Tabron recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. 

Gannon held the lead the entire game, starting the game on a 14-0 run through the first eight minutes of the game. Chere' Marshall and Mikatavage were the leading scorer for The Rock in the first half with four points each. 

The Rock started the second half on a 8-0 run, when the Golden Knights took control pulling its lead to 29 off of a Tabron foul shot with 4:45 left and a 60-31 score. 

The Rock shot 33.3% (16-48) from the floor and did not convert a three-pointer in the game (0-9). SRU recorded 12 steals to GU's five. 

Gannon shot 40% (22-55) from the floor and 36% (9-25) from behind the arch. The Golden Knights outrebounded The Rock 45-25, and recorded six blocks to SRU's two. 

The Rock returns to action at Morrow Field House on Saturday to host Edinboro. This is also The Rock's Pink Zone game to benefit breast cancer awareness. Tipoff is set for 1 pm.
