Saturday event honors former Rock standout Kory Fielitz Rorabaugh

SRU's all-time women's basketball leading rebounder and second leading scorer will be the featured guest at a pregame reception and halftime ceremony of SRU's game vs. Clarion in Morrow Field House

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Slippery Rock University Advancement Division and Athletic Office will honor former Rock women's basketball standout Kory Fielitz Rorabaugh as part of The Rock's basketball doubleheader Saturday in Morrow Field House against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Clarion University.

She will be honored during a pregame reception starting at 11:30 a.m. in Morrow Field House as well as during a halftime ceremony of the women's game, which is set to tipoff at 1 p.m.

Rorabaugh currently ranks as the all-time leading rebounder in Rock women's basketball history with 961 and is the No. 2 scorer in program history with 1,694 points in her four-year collegiate career (1990-94).

She ranks fourth in career rebounds per game at 9.2 and ninth in career points per game at 11.9 and holds the school record for field goals made (702) and field goals attempted (1415). Her 49.% career field goal efficiency is the fourth best in school history.

Rorabaugh also ranks third in career free throws made (289), fourth in career free throw attempts (371) and sixth in career free throw percentage (77.9 ).

A 2004 inductee into the SRU Athletic Hall of Fame, she led The Rock in rebounding all four seasons of her collegiate career, highlighted by a career-best 10.7 per game average as a senior. She was also the Green and White's top scorer in both her junior and senior seasons. She averaged 18.5 points per game in her junior season (1992-93) and 16.4 ppg in her final campaign.

Rorabaugh is the third former Rock women's basketball student-athlete to be honored as part of a series of special events sponsored by the Advancement Division and Athletic Office this winter. Jodi Gault and Jan Kasnevich were both honored as part of the Jan. 30 basketball doubleheader vs. Indiana.

The series of special events also includes celebrations spotlighting three former men's basketball standouts as well as the 1972-73 men's team that competed in the NAIA national tournament.
