KENT, Ohio
– The Slippery Rock University women's track and field team put in an outstanding effort Saturday at the Kent State Tune Up in the team's final preparation before the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships.

The Rock was led by the 4x400-meter relay team of Tiffany Tedesco, Amanda Seigworth, Allison Smith and Kaela Snyder.

That foursome combined to break the Slippery Rock record in the event, placing third with a time of 3:52.85. The Rock was the top PSAC team in event, out-leaning PSAC rival Shippensburg at the line. Original results showed Shippensburg in front of SRU, but a final review of the photo finish placed The Rock in front of the Lady Raiders by .02 seconds.

After a conversion for track size, the time of 3:54.45 breaks the previous school record of 3:54.60, set by Tedesco, Seigworth, Smith and Lacey Cochran last season.

Tedesco also had a standout meet in her individual events as she won the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.39 seconds, equaling the second-best performance in the PSAC this season and topping a field loaded with Division I runners. She also posted a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.85 seconds and headlined the second-place finishing 4x400-meter relay team.

Seigworth placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a season best time of 9.08 seconds, which ranks second in the PSAC and is just .08 seconds off the NCAA provisional qualifying standard. Smith placed 11th in the same event with a time of 9.26, matching her season best and the sixth-best mark in the league.

Snyder placed ninth in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:20.61.

The top field event performance on the day came from Jen Hansen, who won the pole vault with a season-best clearance of 3.90 meters. That mark is the best in the PSAC by over a foot and is an NCAA automatic qualifier that ranks fourth in Division II this season.

Hansen was joined in the pole vault by Sarah Reppermund, who placed fifth with a season-best clearance of 3.45 meters, narrowly missing the NCAA provisional mark of 3.50m. Reppermund's mark is the second-best in the PSAC this season. Jacquelyn Kerr placed sixth with a season-best of 3.30m, the sixth-best in the PSAC this season.

Whitney Hendershot placed second in the high jump with a season-best clearance of 1.68 meters, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying standard. Her clearance ranks second in the PSAC and 12th in Division II this season.

Kim Stitt landed a leap of 11.31 meters in triple jump, good enough for fifth-place. That mark is the third-best in the league this season and was just .04 meters off the NCAA provisional standard in the event.

Kara Hatchett placed seventh in the long jump with a leap of 5.06 meters and Rachel Weber finished eighth in the shot put with a toss of 12.59 meters to round out the top performances on the day.

The Rock, which is the three-time defending PSAC Champion indoors, will begin defense of the league title next Saturday at the PSAC Championships. The conference meet is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Edinboro's new indoor track and field facility.
