Day One Results

EDINBORO, Pa. - Junior Sean Stetler finished second in the 5,000 meters, senior Donnie Graybill placed second in the pole vault and both the distance medley and the 4x800-meter relay squads earned top-three finishes on Saturday afternoon from Edinboro University as the men's track and field squad ended the first day of competition from the 2010 PSAC Indoor Championships in a tie for first place with Lock Haven.

Stetler was one of three Red Raiders to place in the 5K on Saturday, recording a time of 14:41.77 that was three seconds behind conference champion Hillary Mugun of IUP. Junior Bryan Beegle earned sixth place in 15:05.54 while junior Ethan Rissell was one spot behind.

Graybill impressed once again with a pole vault of 16 feet, 1.25 inches that would have been a championship performance if not for Kutztown senior William Hodges, who cleared 16 feet, 7.25 inches for an NCAA automatic qualifying berth.

The distance medley relay finished just .03 seconds behind Mansfield for the conference championship. The familiar quartet of sophomore Ed Buck, sophomore Kyle Raguz, senior Josh Neyhart and freshman Matt Gillette posted a time of 10:16.68.

The 4x800-meter relay featured junior Matt Gelety, freshman Joel Flott, sophomore Pio Mandato and sophomore Stephen Schelander placed third in 7:52.44.

In the field, freshmen Elijah Trusty and Matthew Terry placed seventh and eighth in the long jump while junior Tappah Dinnall finished eighth in the weight throw.

Competition will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday from the Mike S. Zafirovski Sports & Recreation Dome.
