NEW ORLEANS - The Shippensburg University women's cross country team was recognized on Monday as a 2009 USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Team, joining 12 other schools from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) while being one of 98 programs recognized in Division II.
Shippensburg, which compiled a team grade-point average of 3.56, was recognized for the second consecutive year. Last week, Shippensburg had five athletes honored for their individual academic success: junior
Mary Dell, a Division II All-American, along with sophomores
Neely Spence and
Katie Frey as well as juniors
Abby Huber and
Emily Dubs.
The PSAC led all conferences with 13 teams placed on the All-Academic roll.
