Rock takes down No. 18 C.W. Post

The Rock handed C.W. Post its first loss of the season, 1-0, and then beat Seton Hill by a 5-1 score to record a two-game sweep of games Monday

KISSIMMEE, FLA. — Junior Shauna Walker tossed a complete-game shutout Monday to lead the Slipppery Rock University softball team to a 1-0 win over 18th-ranked and previously unbeaten C.W. Post in second-day action of the Rebel Games.

The win was Walker's first of the season.

Junior Jordan Zeunges scored the only run of the game on an RBI single by senior Jessica Kortz.

No other details on the game were available.

The Rock followed up its upset of C.W. Post with a 5-1 win over Seton Hill to improve its season record to 4-2.

Junior Lindsey Grace was the winning pitcher against Seton Hill. She also allowed only two runs in three games this season.

Senior Sheree Horvath led The Rock hitting attack with a two-run double that accounted for the first runs of the game. Sophomore Kirsten Brant and freshman Jenna Geibel also had a double each and sophomore Rachel Henderson added an RBI single.

The Rock is idle Tuesday before taking on Fayetteville State (9 a.m.) and Minnesota-Duluth (11 a.m.) in single games Wednesday.
